O2 Spacer for Downpipes
An O2 spacer is designed to reposition the downstream oxygen (O2) sensor slightly farther away from the direct exhaust flow.
When installing aftermarket downpipes—particularly high-flow or catless downpipes—the change in exhaust flow and catalyst efficiency can affect the readings seen by the vehicle’s downstream O2 sensors. An O2 spacer can help alter the sensor’s exposure to the exhaust stream and may reduce the likelihood of certain catalyst-efficiency-related fault codes.
